What Is the Honda Service Pass Program?
The Honda Service Pass Program is synonymous with peace of mind. This maintenance plan covers select factory-scheduled maintenance, oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections.
It’s available for certain eligible Honda vehicles beginning with the 2023 model year. The popular Honda HR-V and Honda Accord are two of several eligible models, for instance.
If you’re looking to lower the overall cost of maintenance for your Honda vehicle, the Honda Service Pass Program is the solution. It’ll ensure that your vehicle receives the best care directly from Honda-trained technicians. All benefits of this program are determined by the Maintenance Minder™ system during the active, 2-year/24,000-mile time period.
Do you know the best part? New Honda vehicles are still covered by the 3-year/36,000-mile Limited Warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. Honda Service Pass could even add value to your vehicle. It’s fully transferable to any subsequent owners.
The Honda Maintenance Minder™ System
The Honda Maintenance Minder™ system will help you determine what services your vehicle needs and when. It’s a key piece of the Honda Service Pass Program, so it’s important to know all about it.
Using the on-board computer, it continuously monitors engine operating systems, such as speed, temperature, and time. When your Honda is due for scheduled maintenance, the Maintenance Minder™ will use visual alerts and even send a handy reminder to your phone to let you know what exact service is needed.
Honda Maintenance Minder™ Codes
Along with warning lights, the Maintenance Minder™ system uses a series of letters and numbers to help you determine what service is needed. You can learn more about Maintenance Minder™ codes A and B below.
- A: Replace engine oil
- B: Replace engine oil and filter, check front and rear brakes, inspect additional working parts of the vehicle
There are also numerical codes that indicate specific services are needed.
- 1: Rotate and check tires
- 2: Replace air cleaner, replace dust and pollen filter, and inspect drive belt
- 3: Replace automatic transmission fluid
- 4: Replace spark plugs and inspect valve clearance
- 5: Replace engine coolant
- 6: Replace rear differential fluid
