When Should I Replace My Tires?

Although every five years is usually a good time to replace your tires, your driving style also dictates when they should be changed. The terrain you traverse makes a difference, especially when you take your SUV out on gravel roads or off-roading in the country. If you’re driving freshly paved roads, your tires will take on less challenges and can last longer.

You can help preserve your tires by keeping up with service. For instance, rotating the tires every six months will keep them evenly matched and ensure they last until you must replace them. It also helps to keep them properly inflated. Once a month, you can check the pressure in the tires yourself, with a tire gauge.

When your Honda is at our service center for oil changes and filter replacements, ask the service technician to look at the tires at the same time. They can eyeball them but also measure the treads to see if the tires need to be replaced. Deeper treads will provide better traction for your travels. Shallower treads signal that your tires may be ready for replacement.
