Places to golf near Flemington, NJ | Clinton HondaHeron Glen Golf Course

Heron Glen Golf Course is an 18-hole course offering five sets of tee boxes for golfers of all skill levels, and there is a practice facility with a driving range that has both grass and mat hitting areas, plus a nice-sized putting green and practice bunker. The signature 13th hole is considered one of the most scenic, especially during the fall.

The National Golf Foundation has given Heron Glen the National Customer Loyalty Award from 2008 through 2018, recognizing it as a top five facility in overall customer loyalty. The course has won multiple awards over the years, including for the best course with most affordable prices, top women-friendly and senior-friendly course, and plenty of No. 1 picks for best course in New Jersey.

Tee times can be booked online up to seven days in advance for public play. Frequent Fairways cardholders have special rates.

Paradise Golf Center

Paradise Golf Center is located in Flemington, across from Liberty Village Premium Outlets. The driving range is open year-round and has lights. There are 28 covered stalls, 12 grass tee stations, and seven target greens that allow you to practice approach shots with a golf course feel.

If you want to practice your short game, Paradise Golf Center has a 2,000-square-foot natural grass putting green, chipping green, and a large sand bunker. Golfers who want some lesson time can sign up for personal or group instruction with Rob Mauer, a 23-year PGA professional golfer.

If you have little ones with you, Paradise Golf Center even has a miniature golf course. The 18-hole course is great for kids, but can still help adults practice their skills.

Neshanic Valley

Neshanic Valley has three nine-hole championship courses, The Meadow, The Ridge, and The Lake. These can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Lake/Ridge combination will include a few water holes and environmentally sensitive wetlands. If you’re a beginner, Neshanic Valley offers a nine-hole Academy Course.

If you purchase the Somerset County Tee Time Service (annual fee), you can book a tee time seven days/eight nights out. Neshanic Valley is one of five Somerset County courses you can use the tee time booking service on. If you sign up online but you haven’t purchased the pass, you can only book three days/four nights out, and no same-day tee times. To book a same-day tee time, call the Golf Shop.

Tips for Newer Golfers

If you’re relatively new to the sport, familiarize yourself with the required dress code on each course’s website, as certain types of clothing are not permitted. Soft-spike shoes are also required. Taking lessons, playing a beginner course like Neshanic Valley’s Academy Course, and getting some time in at the driving range can help get you ready to play the championship courses in no time!
