Ski in New Jersey | Clinton HondaWho’s ready to hit the slopes? Winter is here, and it’s time to get back to the winter sports. Whether you’re an advanced mogul skier, a tuber, or a beginning snowboarder, there are plenty of opportunities for fun experiences in the New Jersey area.

Campgaw Mountain

In Mahwah, Campgaw Mountain is one of the cheapest options in the area. Get a great deal and ski the day away! Campgaw Mountain offers snowboarding and skiing lessons so you can better navigate the slopes. It’s a smaller ski slope, which often means shorter lines and less crowded trails.

Campgaw Mountain has eight beginner and intermediate trails, and 10 800-foot snow tubing runs, as well as a freestyle terrain park for more advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Full day tickets range from $20 to $30 Monday through Friday, depending on when you buy them. Saturday, Sunday, and holiday tickets are $45 for the whole day, but you can purchase half-day tickets for cheaper, depending on when you want to hit the slopes.

Mountain Creek Resort

Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, New Jersey, has 167 acres and over 1,000 vertical feet of slopes across four peaks. Mountain Creek Resort is one of the hottest spots in the area for skiing and snowboarding.

Take the kids to take skiing lessons (or take yourself), go snow tubing, and hit the lodge for a hot drink after a long day of downhill sport.

For $129.99, you can get a skiing or snowboarding package that includes a full-day lift ticket, equipment rental, and access to the Terrain Based Learning skills area. Kids can get the same package for $119. For just the full day ticket, it’s $79.99 for adults and $59.99 for youth and seniors. There is lodging available at the resort, as well as dining options.

Shawnee Mountain

Shawnee Mountain in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, has 23 slopes and trails, two terrain parks and a snow tubing park, making it one of the biggest ski resorts on this list.

Drop the kids off at the on-site babysitting service, or send them off on lessons if they’re old enough. There are great restaurants both on and off the resort, as well as entertainment events throughout the year.

All-day lift tickets are $55 during the weekdays and $65 during the weekends for adults and $42 during the weekdays and $50 during the weekends for kids 18 and under. You can rent skis and snowboards for $40 a day.

Thunder Ridge Ski Area

In Patterson, New York, Thunder Ridge Ski Area is a great place to get in your season of slopes!

With 22 trails, three chairlifts, and four magic carpets, you and your family or group of friends can spend days enjoying the slopes of New York. If you want to make a weekend trip out of it, there are plenty of lodging and dining opportunities in the area.

Day lift tickets are $30 Monday through Thursday, $45 on Fridays, and $57 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The park is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., but a $30 to $35 night ticket is required from 5-9 p.m.
