2016 Honda Civic Surprises and Delights
The Honda Civic has always been a popular vehicle in the United States, but the 10th-generation is attracting more attention than ever. After learning that it was named the 2016 North American Car of the Year, Car Buzz decided to test the 2016 Honda Civic to see what the fuss was about.
After a week in the new four-door Civic Touring, they were sold. Car Buzz marveled at the redesigned athletic exterior, which includes LED headlights and taillights and a wider, longer, and lower stance. They noted that the cabin was rather spacious and the interior had many well-appointed features, such as the heated front and rear seats and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Car Buzz also mentioned it was “easy to see why” the Civic was an IIHS Top Safety Pick+1 with the Honda Sensing Package which includes Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning System, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Road Departure Mitigation. As far as power, they reported the 1.5 Liter Turbo Four-Cylinder Engine, which produces 174 horsepower, to have a powerful yet smooth delivery.
Car Buzz reporter, Michael Hines said it best: “Honda has taken the Civic back to its roots, creating a car that’s fun to drive and easy on the eyes. It’s also ridiculously safe, fuel-efficient, practical to a fault and pretty damn cheap with an entry level model (the LX six-speed manual) coming in at $18,640. If all that isn’t worthy of an award then what the hell is?”

Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s New Car Assessment Program (www.safercar.gov). Model tested with standard side airbags (SAB).
The Honda Fit is the Perfect Teen Car
For many teenagers, getting their driver’s license is one of the most exciting milestones of adolescence. For parents, it may be one of the most terrifying milestones of parenting. CarBuzz made this exciting yet scary moment a little bit easier by picking out the top five vehicles parents should buy for their teenagers. This list takes into consideration affordability, a little bit of style, and of course, safety.
The 2016 Honda Fit was an obvious choice for this list. CarBuzz calls it “the best-designed car for teenagers,” with 1.5 Liter Four-Cylinder Engine and Manual Transmission. The Six-Speed Manual Transmission will ensure your teenager isn’t texting and driving, and will let them make the most of the 130 horsepower engine, especially when the Vtec turns on. It also has cool techy features your teen will love, like the optional touchscreen radio. Plus, it offers practicality with rear fold-down seats. Not to mention, it’s incredibly affordable with a starting MSRP of $15,890*.

EPA Releases MPG For 2017 Honda Ridgeline
Although we will not see it arrive on our lot until sometime this summer, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is quite the hot topic! This redesigned midsize pickup has gotten people talking over its excitability, entertainability, and yes, efficiency! The Environmental Protection Agency has recently released the official fuel-efficiency estimates for the new Ridgeline, and it was given an impressive EPA estimated mpg of 19 city/26 highway/22 combined* when equipped with Front-Wheel Drive and a 3.5 Liter V6 Engine. This marks a 5 mpg increase from the last generation of the Ridgeline, which allows it to stay competitive in its segment. Four-Wheel Drive only causes the estimate to drop to 18/25/21 mpg, still beating out trucks like the Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma.
Clinton Honda is looking forward to the arrival of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline and we are such our customers near Annandale, Clinton, Somerville, NJ; and Easton, PA are too. Check back here often for the official arrival announcement!

The 2016 Civic Coupe Is The Prelude Reincarnate
Many of you Honda lovers may remember the Honda Prelude, a fun yet affordable coupe modeled loosely after the Accord. To the dismay of many drivers, it was retired back in 2001 when Honda put their efforts towards the SUV market. However, the Prelude might be making a tiny comeback, according to Adam Krentzman of AutoBlog, who recently test drove the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe and became convinced this vehicle is the “spiritual successor of the Prelude.”
Krentzman makes several valid points, as the 2016 Civic Coupe has many distinct Preludian qualities both inside and out. For starters, the two have nearly identical length (178 inches and 176.9 inches) and width (69 inches and 70.8 inches). As far as styling goes, the new Civic Coupe channels the Prelude design with its longer hood, short rear deck, and low wide stances, giving it a cab forward design. Finally, the Honda Prelude was often a technology guinea pig that Honda used to test out their latest technologies on, including torque vectoring and four wheel steering. The new Civic Coupe is following suit as the first U.S. Honda car featuring a turbocharged engine, available safety technology, and connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Once upon a time, Car and Driver named the Honda Prelude the best handling car for under $30,000. Now, we hope the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe will be given the same title! Stop by Clinton Honda to test drive this incredible vehicle and decide for yourself.

2017 Honda Ridgeline is the MPG Champ
Those brave enough to drive a truck these days are used to hearing the term Gas Guzzler, meaning you might pay more for gas in a month than you do on utilities. But those days could be over thanks to the mold-breaking 2017 Honda Ridgeline.
This truck was designed for those who would like to be able to drive a pickup as their everyday vehicle and not break the bank while doing so. According to EPA, the 2017 Ridgeline will reach 19 mpg city, 26 highway and 22 combined*. Even if you decide to move up to all-wheel drive, you’ll only lose 1 mpg in each category. In comparison to other trucks in its class, there’s no competition with 17-18 mpg city and 23-24 highway.
Keep an eye here on the Clinton Honda blog, we will let you know when we have more information on the 2017 Ridgeline and when it’s available on our lot.

To continue their commitment to making electric vehicles account for two-thirds of global sales by 2030, Honda will introduce the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid and Clarity to their lineup.
Honda discontinued to the Accord Hybrid for the 2016 model year in order to move production from Ohio to Japan, which should allow Honda to double sales. To provide powerful efficiency, the vehicle will use Honda’s two-motor hybrid system that will provide you with 49/47 mpg city/highway* as well as 212 horsepower. It has also received some exterior updates, including blue accent headlights and taillights and hybrid badging. The Accord Hybrid will be available in three models and will be the top of the line model, available this spring. The price has not yet been announced.
The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell five-passenger sedan is perhaps Honda’s biggest innovation yet, relying on hydrogen stations in California. Right now, there are only 15, but in two months there will be 20, and by 2020, there are expected to be 100. This model will be available in the United States later this year, while the all-electric Clarity will launch next year, although the states have not yet been decided. Lastly, Honda will add the expected volume leader, the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, which will be able to travel 40 miles** before extended range. This is expected to be available at the end of 2017. Pricing is expected to begin around $60,000.

Yesterday, the 2016 STEP Ahead Awards took place in Washington, D.C. to honor and celebrate women in the manufacturing industry. The Manufacturing Institute created the STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) awards to recognize women who encourage and support other women who have dreams of pursuing a career in manufacturing. This initiative aims to close the disparity between the percent of women in the labor force (47 percent) and women in the manufacturing workforce (only 27 percent).
Jan Gansheimer, AVP of plant operations for Honda of America Mfg., Inc. was recognized for her long and successful career in Honda’s manufacturing plants, during which time she has been working to advance the footprint of women in this industry.
“I love the variety that manufacturing offers at Honda because it provides the opportunity to create, to solve problems and to work constantly to improve products for the customer,” said Gansheimer, who was recently named Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Honda North America, Inc. “I’m honored to be recognized for supporting an industry that has significantly impacted my life and is so important to the fabric of the country.”
