Honda Super Bowl Commercial
Anyone who tuned in for the Big Game this past weekend not only got to see an incredible game but a variety of highly entertaining star-studded commercials. Honda was one of the many companies that created a special Super Bowl spot which features a variety of famous faces and focused on the brand’s “Power of Dreams” slogan. The 2017 Honda CR-V was the featured vehicle as the spot focused on how the brand’s Power of Dreams led to the creation of a model that is now celebrating 20 years in production. The overall message was that you should never be afraid to dream big because all dreams are possible as long as you put in the time and effort to make them a reality.
The brand took a unique approach to their message by featuring a variety of celebrities including Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Viola Davis, Missy Elliott, Tina Fey, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel, Stan Lee and Robert Redford as they shared how they followed their dreams from humble beginnings to where they are now. The unique element was that each celebrity was speaking as their younger selves from the pages of their high school yearbook.

Give Your Car a Winter Clean
It’s wintertime and the weather is not-so-fine. If you’ve checked out your vehicle lately, it’s probably covered in a heavy coat of salt, snow, and grime from traveling the winter roads of Annandale, Clinton, Somerville, NJ; and Easton, PA. Not only is this unattractive, it can cause damage to your vehicle! Clinton Honda has some helpful tips below to help you keep your vehicle in good shape this winter.
Winterize with Wax – Wouldn’t it be nice to have some kind of extra layer to protect your vehicle against salt, snow, and dirt? Introducing our good friend, wax. One application of this will keep your vehicle protected during the harsh winter months. Even better, it’s incredibly affordable!
You Missed a Spot – You’ve probably heard the phrase, “know your enemy.” This is especially true when it comes to car maintenance. Yes, we’re serious! Knowing the places where rust can start will help you avoid it. Road salt (the number one cause of rust) tends to accumulate behind the wheels, front grille, and quarter panel. Pay special attention to these areas while cleaning your vehicle.
Wash It Down – While it’s not really common practice, washing your vehicle during the winter is one of the most important things you can do for it. Whether you’re power washing, hand washing, or automatic car washing, make sure you’re doing it every other week. It will dramatically improve the exterior appearance of your vehicle in the long run.
Switch It Up – Your regular floor mats probably won’t fare well against all the snow, salt, and dirt you’ll be bringing into your vehicle. Try buying some custom fitted rubber mats to protect your floors. Also, if you want to leave the days of scraping your frozen windshield behind you, try draining your wiper fluid and replacing it with de-icing fluid.

2017 Honda Accord Sport Named Best New Sedan
Anyone from Annandale, Clinton, Somerville, NJ; or Easton, PA who drives a 2017 Honda Accord knows when it comes to sedans, it doesn’t get any better. When driving a smaller vehicle like a sedan, coupe or hatchback, it’s not uncommon to feel inadequate, or even unsafe next to larger trucks, SUVs, and crossovers. However, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, there is no real need for concern. They recently conducted a study to determine how often people die when in crashes with SUVs and Pickups. Researchers were happy to find that largely due to design changes in both larger and smaller vehicles, the two groups are more compatible on the road. The Honda Division ended 2016 on a high note after achieving a new annual sales record of 1,476,582 units sold throughout the year bringing the total up 4.8 percent from total 2015 sales. In fact, combined sales of just the Civic, Accord, and CR-V alone were more than 1 million for the fourth straight year. Along with the overall sales record for the year they also achieved a new record for just the month of December with sales climbing up 6.9 percent to reach 142,329 units.
“It was an amazing year for the Honda brand with our product lineup full of industry best models,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president & general manager of the Honda Division. “Our strong December also builds momentum for 2017 which is shaping up to be another great year as still more new Honda products will give customers exciting new choices.”
The CR-V set a new sales record for both December and the entire year. December sales were up 21.1 percent to reach 37,778 units while annual sales were up 3.4 percent to reach 357,355 units. The Ridgeline posted its best-ever sales month with December sales reaching 4,085 units. Annual sales of the Civic were up 9.4 percent to reach 366,927 units sold for the year. And, the HR-V experienced a significant increase in annual sales with total 2016 results 95.5 percent higher than results from 2015 to end the year with 82,041 units. For just December the Hr-V’s sales were equally impressive with a 90.7 percent increase over last year to achieve a monthly total of 9,034 units.
Additional December Sales:
- Accord sales reached 33,873 units
- Fit sales were up 9.3 percent to reach 4,425 units
- Odyssey sales reached 10,411 units
- Pilot sales reached 12,072 units
